Camryn's Swimming Lessons

For the past 6 weeks Camryn has been in swimming lessons at the Rec. Center. Once the initial fear of the water went away, she really came into her own as she started enjoying going to the pool. When she first started she could barely get splashed on without crying, but now she enjoys splashing and getting splashed. She received a report card last night telling us how she did throughout the course of her lessons. She passed in the areas of front float assisted and back float assisted. She didn't pass in the areas of underwater 3 times unassisted, head down horizontal wall kick 5 count, and jump ins unassisted. Because she didn't pass the majority of the class, if she were to continue (which we haven't made up our minds as to whether or not she will), she would remain in the level 1 class. Her teacher, Lana, wrote this on the back of her report card: "Camryn Sieger (yes Sieger, not Sleger...!), You have made great progress this session. I think it is wonderful that you are practicing putting your face in the water and can blow bubbles now. I really liked having you in my class this time." As a special gift, her teacher gave her two tickets to Bounce World! The funny part is, if you know Camryn at all, you know she hated going to Bounce House last year (2009) for Ian's birthday. Camryn showed this to me at swimming and was overjoyed and said she can't wait to go and show Kylie how to bounce on everything!! Hopefully a year and a half has changed her mind and attitude towards all things bouncy and we'll have a nice family day at Bounce World!! Way to go Camryn!!!
