What a Week!

A couple weeks ago (July 30-Aug. 6th) we went up north on vacation with my whole family and Casey's parents. We stayed at Aspen Resort in Orr, MN. This year, however, we didn't all stay in the same cabin. We split up this year because there was no way we would have all fit in one cabin (and lived to tell about it). So, our family shared a cabin with Casey's parents, Tim and Cara shared a cabin with Kelly, Derby and fam., and mom and dad had a cabin to themselves. We couldn't have asked for better weather. The whole week it was about 80-85 and sunny and it only sprinkled for about an hour one evening. The men spent almost every early morning and early evening fishing on Pelican Lake and the rest of us enjoyed sunbathing and swimming by/in the pool, playing at the park, or playing bocce ball around the resort, and digging at the playground. The kids enjoyed the kids' activities (sundaes on Sunday...we all indulged in that one...decorating fish (cut-out) cookies, minnow races, and s'mores by the campfire. We were hoping to see a bear while we were there, but missed seeing one by about a week. I saw on the resort website that I couple days after we left, a baby black bear cub was caught on video roaming the resort grounds. How cute! Although we enjoyed this resort we will probably look for a new place to spend our vacation next year. Here's some photos from the week:
