Trick or Treat!

Halloween was loads of fun this year, not only for the girls, but for Casey and I as well! On Saturday night, Casey and I went back to Holmen to go out with some of our old friends for Halloween. Since we haven't dressed up in a few years, we decided to go all out this year. We were all trying to come up with a group theme that we could all dress up as and one night it hit me, we should all go as Amish people. Everyone took to the idea and the wheels began spinning. We went to Goodwill and found the majority of our costumes and the rest came from Halloween Express and an actual Amish woman on Ebay. The night was a blast and we even got rewarded for our costumes. At one bar we, as a group, took 1st place and won $100 cash and at another bar we all won a $40 bar tab! Here are some pictures from the night...






On Sunday, we took the girls trick or treating in our neighborhood with my sister and Ian. Camryn dressed as a turtle, Kylie went as a mouse and Ian went as Iron Man. Here's a little back story on the costume choices for the girls. Kylie was an easy choice because she, being 2, still doesn't know any better and since we still had Camryn's mouse costume from two years ago, we went with it. Camryn, on the other hand, got to choose her costume. So we asked her what she wanted to be and she came right back with turtle. Ok, now you wouldn't think that would be too difficult to find, but actually it was. Apparently only boys must want to be turtles because the only turtle costumes we could find were the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and those were all boys so we had to go a different route. We found a turtle costume, drum roll please....in the dog section at Target...and it fit. Thankfully Camryn still can't read and didn't realize this was a dog costume or she may just have thrown a fit. I'm sure she will shoot me someday for posting this, but I guess that's what I'm here for, to embarrass her, right?

Anyway, trick or treating was really fun this year now that the girls can both go to the door by themselves and we didn't need to pull anyone in the wagon through the neighborhood. Kelly and I got a big laugh every time Kylie would run to the next house to catch up to Camryn and Ian. The design of her costume made it look like she had a super big mouse butt, so it would wiggle back and forth really fast as her little legs ran as fast as she could to keep up!
