Memorial Day Weekend

We had a very busy Memorial Day Weekend and enjoyed every minute of it! We started out the weekend with a bonfire in the backyard with the neighbors (Luke, Jessie and Bode) on Friday night. On Saturday we ran our usual errands (to Target and the Hy-Vee) and had a nice relaxing morning playing outside with the girls. After they woke up from nap, Grandma and Grandpa volunteered to take the girls fishing and for a sleepover at their house. The girls thoroughly enjoyed their fishing experience and caught ones "this big" (with wide stretched out arms!). Casey and I also went fishing so that I could try out our new boat. We went out to Lake Zumbro to do some bass fishing but unfortunately neither of us could catch a thing. In our defense though, the lake was very crowded with jet skiiers, water skiiers and a zillion other boats. Oh well, maybe next time!

On Sunday, Matt & Shawna and family came up to stay for the night. We had beautiful weather and hung out in the pool most of the day. After naptime the weather turned on us and so we stayed inside much of the night and watched the Twins game against Texas. We woke up Monday morning and said goodbye to the Welch's as they headed to the cities for the rest of their weekend. We stayed a little closer to home and headed to Oxbow Park with Kelly & Derby and the kids. The girls loved seeing all the animals, especially the otters...I think they could have stayed and watched them swim all day! After building up a huge appetite we all went to Mr. Pizza South for lunch. We bummed around the rest of the day and relaxed the rest of our long weekend away. Here's a few pics from Oxbow:

Love the family photo, so you need to edit the lady out of the background. But, I don't know how to do it.
